This is one of the oldest flowers to be cultivated by mankind. Native to the Tamil Nadu province in India, Arabian jasmine is traditionally used as a hair decoration, to create welcome garlands, and as offerings in temples. To preserve the power of its scent, the buds are harvested by hand in the early morning and are spread out on the ground, where the workers watch the buds bloom before extracting their unique essence.
